I need a visa. How can I get one?
In case you need a visa to come to Hungary and visit Sziget Festival, we advise you take the following steps
1. At the consulate usually they accept the 6 Day pass as a proof of accommodation that is actually needed for the visa.
2. If you have problems getting into the consulate you should try to arrange your visa through a travel agency (especially close to the festival date), probably they can probably help you out.
What ‘s included in the ticket price?
A 5% handling fee is charged in addition to the current ticket price when purchasing your ticket online (in the webshop). This is an administration fee for online ticket purchases, the amount of which you can find out in our webshop. You can buy your tickets at the Sziget on-site ticket offices (during opening hours), in which case this administration fee will not be charged.
However, it is important to note that the on-site ticket price (the on-site gate price) may be higher than the online ticket price, so we recommend that you buy your ticket from our webshop. This will not only save you money, but also can avoid a situation where there are no tickets available (on a sold out day).
Camping & accommodation
What is this Leave-no-tent deposit ticket all about? And why? How to get it back?
Well, if you’re coming to The Island of Freedom with your own tent, then you must grab a Leave-no-tent deposit ticket, as it is mandatory to show it to our staff at the Entrance – otherwise you cannot bring it inside the festival area. On your way back home, take your tent with you (or at least drop it to one of our Green Sziget Points) & redeem the ticket voucher and we’ll give the amount back. You can also drop it off at these points and donate for charity – last year we could donate 300 tents with our lovely Szitizens.
SO WHY IS IT? DID YOU KNOW THAT…
- Tents left on the island generate around 7000 kg of plastic waste, polluting the island.
- Tents are typically made from non-recyclable plastic materials and when burnt they emit components into the atmosphere which contribute to acid rain.
- One tent is equivalent to about 8,750 plastic straws.
- Last year we distributed 356 tents to charities, but collecting the tents left behind takes up a lot of time and energy.
With your help, we are protecting the island from plastic pollution and by using your tent for many years, you contribute to the reduction of single use plastics and to a more circular world. Let’s work together to leave our campgrounds beautiful and green!
IMPORTANT NOTICE
It is mandatory to get a deposit ticket to bring your own tent to Sziget. The deposit will be fulfilled as a refund transaction, within 30 days after the Festival, to the bank account belonging to the bank card used for purchasing the deposit ticket. The deposit cannot be repaid in cash or by way of bank transfer.
For those who are not validating the voucher at the Festival Entrance the deposit will be automatically refunded as a refund transaction, within 30 days after the Festival, to the bank account belonging to the bank card used for the purchase.
If your bank card has expired, OTP Bank Nyrt. will contact your bank in order to fulfil the refund. In an event of this, the fulfilment of the refund may take more than 30 days after the Festival.

- You can top up your balance via the mobile application even before the festival, so you can pay with it immediately after exchanging your wristband.
The transaction fee for uploading the wristband is HUF 700.
More information can be found in the Festipay User manual.
What is my PIN?
Your PIN code is the code you have to use to verify your wristband. You will get this code at the entrance on a receipt. Or you can use the last 4 characters of your ticket ID as your PIN. If you don’t have any of these, just visit any ticket or Festipay helpdesk so we can help you!
How to check your balance
Your balance can be checked at all terminals at sellers, – for this you only need to touch your wristband to the reader – also at top-up points and in the Sziget application. If you have created a Festival Account and assigned your wristband, you can easily track your consumption in your account
What if my wristband gets lost or broken?
You can block a damaged or lost wristband and the corresponding balance on site at the Helpdesks with your PIN code if you have previously registered it in your Festival Account.
How can I top-up money to my wristband before the festival?
If you want to top-up money to your wristband before the festival, you can do it very simply in a few steps. Register/sign in to your Festival Account first. After logging in, by clicking on the ‘Topup’ button next to ‘Home’, the site will offer two options.
- After selecting the ‘I have a ticket’ option, you will need the ID under the QR or barcode on your ticket. After that, you click on ‘Submit’, and you have to choose ‘Topup ticket’ from the buttons. You can choose the amount of the top-up, and you can also enter a unique amount. The top-up fee is HUF 700 in all cases.
When choosing the payment method, you should use card registration payment, because in this case you do not have to enter your data again later. If you choose the option without card registration, you have to enter your card details every time you want to top-up money. - The ‘I have a wristband’ option is useful in the following two cases: you are not entered at the festival area yet, but you have already redeemed your ticket for a wristband, or you are already inside the festival area, but you want to comfortably and online load money into your wristband.
This option requires the wristband number and the PIN code. The PIN code is the last 4 characters of the ID below the QR code or barcode of your ticket. After the ‘Add wristband’ step, you have to click on the wristband itself. From there, the top-up process is the same as for the first option.
You can easily check your payments and refund information at any time!
Getting a refund
How do I transfer my ticket to someone else?
You can easily transfer your tickets to another Festival Account holder in your Festival Account: just go to the “My tickets and wristbands” menu and click “Select tickets to send to a friend”. Select the transferable ticket(s) and add the name and email address of your friend. The recipient will get an automatic email with some instructions. Until the tickets are not accepted by your friend as per the instructions, you can still change your mind and cancel the transfer. This is the safest way to manage your tickets: for example, if you bought several tickets, this function is the best way to distribute them among your friends. In case you can’t find your ticket, log out of your account and log in again.
If you want to safely sell your tickets, we recommend to use the 100% safe Ticketswap.
Can I get a refund if I cannot participate in the Festival?
Generally speaking, we have a no-refund/ticket change policy. However, in certain cases (e.g. cancellation due to a Force Majeure event) a full refund may (excl. 3% processing fee) apply. Check here our GTC for further information.
Not able to join the event? Sell your ticket(s) 100% safe via our official partner Ticketswap.
As our ticket vouchers are not personalized you can feel free to give the spare ticket to one of your friends or sell them.
